Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced professional to contribute to a major technology transformation program within the Property and Casualty Insurance industry. As part of a development team, this individual will play a key role in the evolution of a Guidewire platform by providing technical leadership and supporting stakeholders in the design and delivery of robust, scalable, and high-performing solutions.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical leadership for the Guidewire platform and act as the primary technical reference for development teams.
  • Translate business needs, functional requirements, and architectural directions into robust, secure, scalable, and maintainable technology solutions.
  • Define delivery strategies and contribute to application architecture decisions.
  • Guide development teams through the implementation of solutions and promote development best practices.
  • Mentor, coach, and support developers to foster professional growth and team autonomy.
  • Actively participate in detailed design, development, integration, testing, deployment, and application support activities.
  • Conduct design, configuration, and code reviews to ensure quality, security, performance, scalability, and maintainability standards are met.
  • Collaborate closely with technical and business stakeholders to ensure solution consistency and successful delivery outcomes.
  • Analyze complex technical issues and contribute to major incident resolution and root cause analysis activities.
  • Participate in delivery planning, effort estimation, and the management of risks, dependencies, and technical impacts.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the platform through performance optimization, stability enhancements, automation initiatives, observability improvements, and DevSecOps practices.
Required Qualifications:
  • University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of relevant software development experience.
  • Minimum of six (6) years of experience working with the Guidewire platform.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a technical leadership, lead developer, or application architect role.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience may be considered.
  • Guidewire ACE certification is mandatory.
  • Strong proficiency in French, both written and spoken.
  • Ability to work effectively within a North American environment and collaborate with stakeholders across Canada.
  • Strong expertise with REST and SOAP services, XML, and JSON.
  • Proven experience delivering complex Guidewire solutions.
  • Strong proficiency in Guidewire, Gosu, and Java.
  • Good understanding of application architectures, integrations, and cloud environments.
  • Knowledge of Agile, DevOps, CI/CD practices, and source code management tools.
  • Knowledge of the Property and Casualty Insurance sector is considered a strong asset.
Additional Information:
Priority will be given to candidates based in Quebec; however, applications from across Canada are welcome.
