In-House Accountant


Due to expansion we’re implementing in-house accounting capabilities to manage the finance and accounts infrastructure. We are looking for an experienced Management Accountant who has previously worked in a small to medium sized company, someone with experience of managing Accounts for an employment agency would be advantageous due to our business model.  You will also be responsible for the bookkeeping duties for the company.

Role Duties:

  • Preparing statutory accounts
  • Preparation of monthly accounts – including balance sheet, profit and loss, trial balance, calculating accruals, aged debtors and creditors reports
  • Quarterly and annual reporting of results to parent company
  • Recording income and expenses – including processing sales and purchase invoices
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Tracking tax liabilities
  • P11D preparations and submissions
  • Corporation Tax return preparations and submissions
  • VAT calculations and reporting
  • Cash flow tracking
  • Preparation of forecasts and budgets
  • Identifying opportunities for improvement, analyse and manage risk
  • Monitoring and enforcing compliance
  • Advising Management on best practice, regulations etc

Key Requirements:

  • AAT qualified
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • French speaking would be advantageous
  • Strong analytical and research skills, and ability to use IT effectively
    • Currently using Zero Accounting software and Excel
  • Experience of supporting a small to medium size service type company
  • Suitable industry experience would be preferred but not essential
