Space Safety Software Engineer

SII UK has been selected as a partner to support in the ramp up and development of the UK division of a global leader providing technology information systems, products and services within the fields of Science, exploration & innovation. SII will be acting as an extension of capabilities onboarding and integrating a full-range of Engineer/ Data Scientist from, graduate/ junior & mid to senior level into a small team of technical and subject matter experts to support day to day operations in multiple business segments.

The Space Safety Software Engineer will support the UK activities in three areas:

• Technical Engineer of international project with the ESA, several national space agencies, etc.
• Software design engineering
• Software development (and validation) tasks in the frame of Space Safety
• Technical support in Space Safety
• Contribution to commercial/marketing activities

Depending on experience you may be required to: 

• Technical lead and organisation of international engineering teams
• Mentor junior members of the Space Safety activiies
• Prepare and participate in the project milestones and reviews
• Elaborate project development plans
• Create and organise all project SW infrastructure for the implementation and validation of the project assigned
• Programming in different languages
• Define and programming different HMIs

Educational Requirements:

Required:

• Sufficient industry experience in a relevant role or a MSc or higher in Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Maths or Computer Science

Technical Requirements: 

Required: 

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role in Software development and/or algorithm definition
  • Developing software in one or more of the following: C/C++, Java, Python or Fortran
  • Developing code on a Linux OS
  • Desirable knowledge of ESA procedures and guidelines
  • Relevant developing experience following programming standards in different programming languages (detailed in the technical requirements)

• Maven (for HMI JAVE development)
